A good brand name builds long-term value for the brand owner. Only a name that is comprehensively protected under trademark law has the right to be defended against imitators. In order to rule out the risk of a forseeable brand flop, the name must be secured in advance, legally and internationally (i.e. linguistically and culturally) in all target markets and also where necessary on the internet (i.e. as a domain).
