In medical technology, as in other fields, there is a trend towards the upgrading of products through emotional names. A current example is the name Amika® for an ambulatory infusion pump for enteral nutrition from Fresenius Kabi. NOMEN developed the name. It refers to the topic of friendship and stands for “alimentation provided by Fresenius Kabi”.
